My Focus
Property Taxes & Land Rights
Keeping and owning property is a basic human right. Property owners across Kansas are seeing assessment increases, in some cases, up to 44%. These over-appraised valuations are predatory to seniors and landowners and are pricing young families from their ability to plant roots in Kansas. Lower property taxes contribute to long-term economic stability by fostering a favorable environment for homeowners, businesses, and investors alike.Â
I support the proposed constitutional amendment to cap property tax appraisal increase at 4% (or lower) annually and will work diligently to construct statutes to support property tax relief. This will not fully solve the property tax burden, but the State can and should do its part. Â Â
Too often, government overreach threatens property rights through eminent domain, allowing private businesses to benefit at the expense of hardworking citizens. If elected, I will champion legislation to curtail eminent domain for private business interests. This means putting strict limits on when and how government can seize property, ensuring it’s only for genuine public use and not simply to enrich corporations. Your home or business should never be at risk of being taken away for someone else’s profit.
I stand for fairness, transparency, and the protection of your rights. Together, we can ensure that eminent domain serves the public good, not private gain.Â
Additionally, from the perspective of a Kansan, I prioritize national security and sovereignty above all else. Our land is not just our territory; it’s our heritage, our future, and our responsibility to protect.
If elected, I will enact robust policies to safeguard our land from foreign adversaries.Â
Protecting Children & Families
Together, we can uphold the fundamental principle that parents are the primary educators and caregivers of their children. By empowering parents and promoting collaboration between families and schools, we can create an educational environment that respects parental authority and supports the holistic development of our children.
I will champion legislation that reinforces parental consent for sensitive topics, such as sex education, religious teachings, and mental health services. Parents must have the final say in what their children are exposed to in school. Providing students with essential knowledge, skills, and competencies that enable them to understand the world around them, make informed decisions, and contribute positively to society needs to be the foundation of our educational system.
As your elected leader, I promise to take decisive action to protect our children from the deadly threat of fentanyl. I will implement comprehensive measures to ensure that fentanyl is kept out of our communities and away from our schools.
I will work closely with law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to identify and dismantle fentanyl suppliers and distribution networks. We will impose harsh penalties on those who peddle this poison to our children. I would like to see extensive education campaigns in schools and communities to raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl. Knowledge is our first line of defense, and our children need to understand the risks associated with this substance. I will work to allocate resources to support families affected by fentanyl addiction, ensuring they have access to counseling, rehabilitation services, and other forms of assistance they need to recover and rebuild their lives.
Preserving Freedom
As a candidate, I am deeply committed to limiting bureaucratic overreach and preserving individual liberties. I believe in the principle that government should serve the people, not dictate mandates that infringe upon personal freedoms.Â
When elected, I will prioritize:
- Upholding the right of individuals to make informed decisions about their own lives, health, and well-being, free from government interference.
- Safeguarding fundamental civil liberties, including privacy rights, freedom of movement, and freedom of association, against arbitrary restrictions.
- Encouraging voluntary compliance with guidelines and recommendations through education, outreach, and support, rather than coercion or punitive measures.
- Supporting policies that foster economic growth and entrepreneurship by reducing regulatory burdens and promoting a competitive business environment.
Together, we can strike a balance between public health, personal freedoms, and economic prosperity. I pledge to be a steadfast advocate for limited government, accountable leadership, and the preservation of our constitutional rights.
